In The Valley

Armenian folk songs float over the east garden wall and bump into the Persian pop that beats in the west. The cats make their feral night music, driving all the dogs crazy.  Mariachis play in the warm fall night and the pumpkins dance. In the leaves of the old citrus, doves hide from the waiting hawk. On the night before Halloween it’s busy in Van Nuys.
